Gantry Mapping System
A wireline company wanted to measure the magnetic field produced by its tool in free space. The client possessed a magnetic field measuring probe but required an instrument to accurately position the probe, automatically generate a database of coordinates, and record field strength and direction across a substantial volume surrounding the tool.
Grant Innovation gathered requirements and proceeded to design and manufacture a precision gantry system. This system featured a user-friendly software interface, integrating logic and communication functionalities with the existing probe. The design allowed users to conduct surveys of specified volumes at predetermined intervals, producing a comprehensive database in the required format.
